Why this training

What makes this 200-hour different.

  1. A decade of proof, not promises.

Refined over 10+ years of actual cohorts, not written once and left untouched. What you train in has already produced teachers working around the world.

  2. Academic depth most 200-hours skip.

Not a checklist course that rushes you to a certificate. You go deep into philosophy, anatomy, and real teaching methodology — the parts that decide whether you're capable afterward.

  3. Personalized attention every weekend.

Small, in-person cohorts mean you're not one face in a crowd working through a manual alone. You're taught, watched, and corrected directly.

The syllabus

Six parts, 200 hours, one through-line.

Every module is taught so it connects back to the others — anatomy feeds the asana framework, philosophy feeds how you speak in class.

  1. Foundation

    How to Study Yoga Responsibly

    • The history and origins of yoga, told honestly
    • How to read and approach primary yogic texts
    • Cultural context and cultural appropriation — addressed directly, not avoided
    • What separates a yoga teacher from a fitness instructor with a yoga vocabulary
  2. Module 1

    Asana: The Physical Body

    • A structured teaching framework applied across the full asana library — not memorized poses, but a repeatable method for understanding any posture
    • Alignment principles, common misalignments, and how to actually see them in a student's body
    • Modifications and variations for different bodies, injuries, and skill levels
    • Hands-on assisting — how to touch, adjust, and support safely
    • Building a personal practice that informs how you teach
  3. Module 2

    Pranayama & the Subtle Body

    • Core pranayama techniques: Nadi Shodhana, Bhastrika, Kapalabhati, and more, with correct technique and contraindications
    • The koshas — the layered model of the human being beyond just the physical body
    • The nadis and prana vayus — how energy is understood to move, and why it matters for sequencing
    • An entry point into meditation practice — real technique, not a five-minute add-on
  4. Module 3

    Yoga Philosophy & the Mind

    • The kleshas, vrittis, and samskaras — how the mind actually works, according to yoga's own psychology
    • The Yamas and Niyamas as a living ethical framework, not a professional code of conduct
    • Purusha and Prakriti — consciousness and matter, and why this distinction underlies the entire practice
    • How philosophy translates into daily life, not just into what you say in class
  5. Module 4

    Teaching Methodology

    • Sequencing — building a class with intention, not stringing poses together
    • Class structure, timing, and pacing for different levels and populations
    • Voice, cueing, and language — how what you say shapes what a student does
    • The business and practical realities of teaching — pricing, professionalism, and what happens after certification
  6. Module 5

    Anatomy

    • Skeletal and muscular systems relevant to yoga practice — bones, joints, and the muscles that move them
    • Range of motion and joint mechanics — why bodies move differently, and what that means for teaching
    • The nervous system basics — how it relates to breath, stress response, and the practices you'll teach
    • Injury awareness and safe movement — recognizing common risk areas and how to teach around them
    • Applied anatomy — connecting what you learn here directly back to Module 1's asana framework, so this isn't studied in isolation
