The founder

Arundhati Baitmangalkar’s story

Arundhati grew up in South India, where yoga wasn’t a class you took, it was simply part of how life was lived. That grounding took shape into something more formal over years spent studying in Mysore and Bangalore, including under senior disciples of B.K.S. Iyengar & other lineages — real, deep learning, not a certificate weekend.

That training is the foundation of everything Arundhati has built since: 20+ years of teaching, a practice defined by precision and respect for a tradition thousands of years old, and a reach that now extends well past Redmond — through Let’s Talk Yoga and teacher trainings that have shaped thousands of instructors around the world. But it started, and still lives, right here in the heart of Redmond.

Our teaching philosophy

The whole practice, taught with real rigor.

Yoga is treated here as a complete practice, not a fitness trend — precise, well-sourced, and taught with real pedagogical rigor. Every teacher at Aham Yoga is trained to that same standard, so whichever class you walk into, you’re getting the real practice, not a diluted version of it.

Aham Yoga’s story

Built by the community, one request at a time.

Aham Yoga didn’t start as a studio. We didn’t open a grand yoga studio and wait for students to come in. It started as one teacher with a dream — Aru, teaching one yoga class at a time. That’s how Aham Yoga was built. By the community.

Students kept coming back, kept asking for more — more classes, more workshops, more depth, more ways to practice and eventually to teach to others. Aham Yoga became a full-service studio because Redmond asked it to, one request at a time.

That’s still how it works today. This is a community-driven studio, built around what students actually need, not around what a franchise template says a yoga studio should offer.

Where you practise

Five acres, or wherever you are.

The Aham Yoga studio grounds at the base of Union Hill in Redmond, five acres of open land and trees.

The Studio

Aham Yoga sits on five acres at the base of Union Hill — deer in the yard, fruit trees in summer, sunrise or sunset waiting for you the moment class ends. Finish your practice and step outside to pick fruit, breathe, and watch the light change. It’s minutes from the hustle of Redmond, but it doesn’t feel like it — you don’t need to board a plane to find a retreat.

Virtual Studio

Not in Redmond? You don’t have to be. This is the room you join: every class is livestreamed and interactive, so you get the same real teaching and the same attention from wherever you are. You’ll be a part of Aham Yoga from afar.

“The teachers, Srujana, Michelle, and Aru ensure the asana practice is excellent — well-sequenced classes that have noticeably improved my strength and flexibility. But what keeps me coming back is something harder to quantify: my mind feels clearer.”
